So... what is wellbeing, really?
Children show positive wellbeing when they are connected, calm and confident, curious and capable, engergised and healthy. Wellbeing is a good life feeling. When children are doing well in these areas, they're more resilient, make better choices, and grow into confident humans.
Fact
The World Health Organization refers to wellbeing as a positive state in 4 areas: Social, Emotional, Physical, Cognitive (but for children in CP3, we like saying the above instead!)
Connected
Social wellbeing is shown through meaningful relationships and community connections.
Calm & Confident
Feeling aware of emotions, and confident they know what to do when the road gets bumpy.
Curious & Capable
Cognitively engaged and feeling confident in what they can do.
Energised & Healthy
Physical wellbeing, feeling good through food and moving their bodies.
How do I know if a child is doing OK?
Think of wellbeing like a battery—you want to keep it charged with connection, safety, and opportunities to grow.

They trust adults and feel safe.
Why should I care about wellbeing in OSHC?
Wellbeing is your superpower. It's built into all the things you're already doing in your OSHC service.
Fact
The My Time, Our Place Framework says welllbeing is important! It says that "sound wellbeing results from the satisfaction of basic needs including physical, social emotional and mental health".
What can I actually do to help children feel good?
Here's your mini CP3 "Wellbeing Toolkit" — pick what works for you and your OSHC service.
How can I support families too?
Just like children, families need connection, too. Simple things make a difference in supporting family wellbeing.
