Real Stories, Real Impact

See how OSHC communities have co-designed programs and brought CP3 to life!

Community Spirit Connect

Children dive into a world where culture, celebration, and cuisine intertwine to celebrate the colourful mosaic of their local vibrant and diverse community. This activity brings the CP3 principles to life:

  • Build Wellbeing and Resilience by fostering pride in identity and belonging
  • Broaden Horizons by exploring traditions, stories, and foods from around the world
  • Inspire and Engage through hands-on cooking, art, and storytelling
  • Connect Communities by bringing families, educators, and children together in joyful celebration

This isn’t just an event—it’s a meaningful moment of connection, learning, and laughter. A space where children feel seen, valued, and safe to express who they are.

Movie Maker

Children step into the director’s chair in this co-designed program that brings storytelling, performance, and creativity to life! With the support of educators and community volunteers, kids script, act, and produce their very own short films—expressing their ideas, building skills, and sharing their voices on the big screen. This immersive experience brings the CP3 principles to life:

  • Build Wellbeing and Resilience by boosting confidence, self-expression, and emotional literacy through drama and performance
  • Broaden Horizons by exploring new perspectives, roles, and storytelling techniques through the world of film
  • Inspire and Engage by giving children agency in the creative process—leading their own productions, collaborating with peers, and learning hands-on skills
  • Connect Communities by involving local volunteers and families in the filmmaking process, and celebrating everyone’s efforts at your very own OSHC film festival premiere

Roll out the red carpet—Movie Maker is where imagination meets action!

Hatch and Build

Children dive into a hands-on world of tools, teamwork, and tiny chicks as they help design and build a real chicken coop for their OSHC. From co-planning and research to construction and care, this immersive project sparked curiosity, leadership, and connection—bringing the CP3 principles to life:

  • Build Wellbeing and Resilience by boosting emotional confidence through caring for animals, and developing physical and cognitive skills through tool use and problem-solving.
  • Broaden Horizons by exploring the lifecycle of chickens, learning construction skills, and connecting with a local preschool to share knowledge and resources.
  • Inspire and Engage through real-world learning—children took the lead on research, coop design, and even used digital tools to follow the chicks’ journey from egg to hatchling.
  • Connect Communities by collaborating with CP3-trained volunteers, families, and educators, creating rich intergenerational bonds and community pride.

It’s not just a project—it’s a joyful, messy, meaningful journey that builds skills, friendships, and feathered friendships too!
